Contemporary Art by Soniei

Inspired by Japan's culture, I have a passion to give its traditional art a contemporary twist. I love to use Japanese calligraphy subjects, such as orchids, bamboo and cherry blossoms, and mixing them with my own style and personality. From samurai inspired paintings to abstract kanji art, it is my daily quest to create pieces that reflect my spirit at that particular moment.

About the Artist

I'm Soniei (pronounced sO.nE.A) and I was raised in Clare, a small Acadian-French community in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Determined to make my childhood dream a reality, I started working on a business called 'Soniei's Contemporary Art' in 2004, which only started making me money in 2006. Now, I'm a self-representing artist / home online-business owner. I love my job and I can't see myself doing anything else.
