Contemporary Art, Original Paintings and Prints by Soniei

Inspired by Japan's culture, I have a passion to give its traditional art a contemporary twist. I love to use Japanese calligraphy subjects, such as orchids, bamboo and cherry blossoms, and mixing them with my own style and personality. From samurai inspired paintings to abstract kanji art, it is my daily quest to create pieces that reflect my spirit at that particular moment.

"Successfully combines Japanese typography and Japanese imagery with a healthy dose of design sensibility. . . A few of her paintings reflect what I can only describe as a deep whimsy." Dan, Editor of EmptyEasel.com
